Researchers have identified a new malware, named “Glove,” that tricks users into downloading it via phishing. Once downloaded, it steals stored data from web browsers, mainly targeting Chromium-based ones but also affecting others like Mozilla Firefox. Remarkably, Glove bypasses Google Chrome’s recently implemented App-Bound Encryption, a security measure designed to prevent cookie theft. This workaround makes Glove a powerful tool for stealing sensitive information, such as passwords and crypto wallets. Awareness of phishing tactics remains key to avoid such threats.
