Food allergies’ broad impact on quality of life demands greater awareness

A review article in Frontiers in Nutrition has explored the impact of food allergies on quality of life, including economic, psychological and social consequences. Food allergies in children can lead to allergic rhinitis, eosinophilic esophagitis, atopic dermatitis and asthma, causing barriers to normal life. In addition, food allergies increase stress and can lead to social isolation, impacting all aspects of life. The researchers advocate for increased awareness of these effects to support individuals with food allergies, reduce burden, and create a more inclusive society.
