March saw a record 107 ransomware attacks, marking an 81% increase from last year, according to cybersecurity firm Blackfog. The majority of these attacks targeted the healthcare sector. In Q1 2021, 278 attacks were disclosed, up 45% year-on-year. RansomHub was the key group behind these attacks, although cybersecurity firms noted internal issues which could signal a potential leadership change.
