First ‘Doctor Who’ Writer Honored. His Son Contests BBC’s Rights to ‘Unearthly Child’

A campaign is underway to erect a memorial to Anthony Coburn, the original writer of the 60-year-old TV series Doctor Who, in his home town of Herne Bay, Kent. His son, Stef Coburn, has been pushing for recognition of his father’s contribution to the show, and claims the BBC has breached copyright by continuing to use the TARDIS, a time machine that Coburn created.
