Financial data belonging to as many as 53 million individuals compromised in data breaches last year

Financial data of almost 52.8 million individuals was compromised in the UK in cyber attacks in the past year, marking an alarming 90% increase from the previous year, according to global specialty (re)insurance group Chaucer. It flagged the rising sophistication of cyber attacks, and stressed that organisations need to be more conscious of data security, improve procedures, and educate staff to engage in robust cyber defense.
