Nearly 70% of education sector organisations surveyed by cybersecurity vendor Netwrix have suffered a cyberattack in the past year, with phishing and user account compromise the most common methods. Three-quarters of these attacks involved compromised user or admin accounts, compared to 48% in other sectors. Experts recommend regular security training, strong password policies, multifactor authentication and automated detection solutions to counter the threats.
