FDA warns about patient monitor cybersecurity vulnerabilities

The FDA has issued a warning about cybersecurity vulnerabilities in patient monitors from Contec and Epsimed which could allow unauthorized remote access. The monitors, which display vital signs in healthcare and home settings, could be remotely controlled, potentially leading to accesses denial or data corruption. Users are advised to use local monitoring features only or disable remote monitoring by unplugging the device or disabling its wireless capabilities.
