FDA says applesauce pouches recalled for lead also contained chromium

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warns that applesauce pouches initially recalled in November due to lead contamination may contain chromium. The contamination is linked to cinnamon supplied by Ecuadorian distributor Austrofoods. Brands include WanaBana, Weis, and Schnucks’ cinnamon applesauce pouches. The FDA found that some stores were still selling the recalled product in mid-December.
