FDA authorizes Florida to import drugs from Canada

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has authorized Florida to import prescription drugs from Canada in a bid to control pharmaceutical costs. However, this move may be challenged by the pharmaceutical industry, and it’s unclear if the planned savings of $150m per year for state taxpayers will materialize given Canada’s measures to prevent drug shortages.
