FBI, DOJ Take Down LummaC2 Malware Behind Data Theft

The US Justice Department, working with international partners including Microsoft, Europol, and Japan’s Cybercrime Control Center, has successfully shut down LummaC2, a global malware platform. The system, used by cybercriminals to steal sensitive data such as passwords, financial information, and personal details, was spread through fake emails and phony software updates. Authorities seized over 2,300 web domains and disabled five key servers, effectively dismantling the operation, which had infected nearly 400,000 devices this year alone.
