The DOJ has seized several of the group’s websites, gained insight into their network, and developed a decryption tool to help victims recover their files. Despite this, BlackCat has announced revenge measures, including lifting rules on who can be targeted by their ransomware, worrying some about potential attacks on hospitals and nuclear power plants.
