Cybersecurity researchers at FortiGuard Labs have exposed an email phishing campaign that uses false hotel reservations to trigger the MrAnon Stealer malware, capable of stealing data and information. The attackers disguise themselves as a hotel reservation firm and send malicious PDF files. The malware targets crypto wallets, browsers, messaging apps, and VPN clients. Primarily targeting Germany, the campaign was active in November 2023. Experts advise users to be cautious with unexpected emails, particularly those with suspicious attachments.
