PowerSchool, a major EdTech firm used by 75% of U.S. school districts, suffered a major cyber attack which compromised sensitive student and teacher information. While other school district officials across the country sounded alarms and informed communities, Fairfax County Public Schools Superintendent Michelle Reid was silent, raising concerns about transparency in the district. PowerSchool reportedly paid a ransom and officials are hoping the data was deleted.
