Facebook accounts hit with malicious ad attack with dangerous malware

Bitdefender Labs has discovered a new virus, NodeStealer, used by cybercriminals to steal cookies and passwords from Facebook users. The virus is spread through malvertising campaigns featuring fake Meta (Facebook’s parent company) ads which infect computers when clicked on. NodeStealer has reportedly already caused an estimated 100,000 downloads and other potential security breaches.
