EZETIMIBE: Are there any specific foods to avoid with ezetimibe

Ezetimibe, a cholesterol-lowering medication, can be less effective when certain foods are consumed. Fatty foods, high-fiber foods, polyunsaturated fats, and foods containing bile acid sequestrants such as oatmeal can reduce the drug’s absorption. Additionally, grapefruit, Seville oranges, starfruit and pomegranate may also limit absorption. Consuming ezetimibe with a low-fat meal can maximise its effectiveness.
