Exposing the HeartCrypt Packer-as-a-Service Operation

The article discusses HeartCrypt, a new Packing as a Service (PaaS) program introduced in February 2024. It is utilized by cyber criminals to protect malware and is distributed through dark web forums and Telegram. The service targets both Windows x86 and .NET payloads and charges $20 per file to pack. Customers are mainly malware operators using families such as LummaStealer, Remcos and Rhadamanthys. The packer works by injecting malicious code into otherwise sound binaries.
