Cybersecurity researchers have highlighted the ongoing risk posed by XorDDoS, a distributed denial-of-service malware that has targeted the US in 71.3% of attacks from November 2023 to February 2025. The malware frequently targets Linux machines and Docker servers, turning infected hosts into bots. Mainly infiltrating devices through Secure Shell brute-force attacks, XorDDoS sets up persistence and auto-launch features upon successful infection.
