Everyone seems to be getting COVID

COVID-19 cases and hospital admissions are on the rise in the U.S., in part due to the omicron JN.1 variant, which is considered very contagious and is causing 61.6% of cases. However, health systems are not currently overwhelmed. Other factors contributing to the increase include winter weather, decreased social distancing, vaccine fatigue, and less strict virus containment practices. CDC still recommends that high-risk individuals and those interacting with immunocompromised individuals mask in indoor public spaces.
