Even with encryption, EMR data at risk

A recent security report by Microsoft reveals that sensitive information can still be recovered from encrypted electronic medical record (EMR) databases. The report examined four types of cyberattacks on EMRs and found that these attacks can successfully recover encrypted attributes of patient records in a significant number of hospitals. The study highlights the limitations of encryption when it comes to protecting healthcare data.
