The European Commission has launched an action plan aimed at enhancing cybersecurity in hospitals and other healthcare providers. This initiative is a response to the increasing reliance on digital tools in healthcare and a rise in cyberattacks in the sector. The plan seeks to improve prevention, detection and identification of threats, responsiveness to cyberattacks, and deterrence of cyber threats. It suggests creating a pan-European Cybersecurity Support Centre and introducing financial assistance via cybersecurity vouchers. The plan will be progressively implemented in 2025 and 2026.
