The European Commission has launched a campaign to boost the cybersecurity of hospitals and medical centres. Facing 309 critical cybersecurity incidents in 2023, the region’s healthcare sector was hit more than any other. The initiative will include the enhancement of prevention, better threat detection, faster responses to cyber attacks and stronger protection for European healthcare systems. The EU’s cybersecurity agency, ENISA, will establish a pan-European Cybersecurity Support Centre to offer hospital staff support, tools, services and training.
