Equifax Scores $13.6 Million Slap on Wrist Over 2017 Mega Breach

The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has fined Equifax over $13.6 million for severe failings, including a security breach in 2017 that put millions of people at risk of financial crime. The original fine was $19.4 million, but Equifax received a 30% discount for accepting the penalty early on, and a 15% credit for good behaviour during the investigation.
