Scientists from the Cleveland Clinic and Cornell University have created a computational tool that uses AI to understand how genetic mutations affect protein-protein interactions in diseases such as cancer. The software, called PIONEER, could help accelerate drug development and clinical trials by targeting specific protein-protein interactions. The system uses data from nearly 100,000 individuals with disease-causing mutations and information about almost 300,000 protein pair interactions.
