Duke, MD Anderson uncover potential strategy for bone protection in cancer therapy

A recent study by Duke University School of Medicine and University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center has identified a potential way to protect bones from damage during cancer treatment. Using a new medication to target a specific protein, researchers prevented bone injury and anemia in mice after radiation exposure. More research is needed, however, to understand its full potential in human patients.
