Doctors tap personal savings for costs

UnitedHealth Group’s health-care technology firm, Change Healthcare, suffered a cyberattack, disrupting its payment and revenue cycle management tools, causing fallout across the US health-care system. The breach led to doctors, such as Akey, being temporarily left without funds for their services, reducing her practice’s cash flow by over 80% for six weeks. Although UnitedHealth Group is working to bring systems back online, practices are still struggling to reclaim funds and maintain services.
