Discord file links will expire after a day to fight malware

Discord plans to change its file hosting system where file links will refresh every 24 hours by year-end to combat malware. This will not affect in-platform content sharing since links within the client will automatically be refreshed. However, regenerated links shared outside of Discord will stop working after a day. The decision was made in response to a report by Trellix discovering around 10,000 malware samples distributed online via Discord’s content delivery network.
