DirectTrust, a non-profit alliance, has unveiled Trusted Instant Messaging+ (TIM+), a standard for real-time communication of health information. Designed for secure transmission between trusted entities within and across healthcare enterprises, the TIM+ standard aims to address the lack of a secure messaging standard in the healthcare industry. It offers benefits such as integrated workflow and cross-enterprise communication, while ensuring adherence to privacy regulations like HIPAA. DirectTrust is seeking participation from industry stakeholders to help finalize development of the TIM+ standard.
