The Information Commissioner’s Office has criticised the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust for its failure to release details sought under the Freedom of Information Act, alleging “extremely poor practice” tinged with ambiguity. Examples include the refusal to provide reports into maternity services and a music festival. The trust was criticised for being opaque to avoid bad PR, in breach of the spirit of the Freedom of Information Act, instead of seeking ways to provide the required information.
