DDoS attack revealed as cause of online service outage at public healthcare institutions

Singapore’s public healthcare institutions suffered an outage due to a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack that continued for several days, according to Synapxe, the national healthtech agency. Despite the disruption, which affected internet connectivity for over seven hours, mission-critical systems remained operational and no data was compromised. Synapxe is working on measures to block abnormal traffic and restore services, while also cooperating with the country’s cybersecurity regulator, Cyber Security Agency (CSA).
