Nearly a million people had their personal and healthcare details exposed online following a ransomware attack against NHS hospitals in London, CaseMatrix reports. The published data includes potentially sensitive information regarding medical conditions such as cancer and sexually transmitted infections. The disclosure comes more than three months after the Qilin ransomware gang’s attack on the data management firms NHS England and Synnovis, which severely impacted UK blood supplies. Neither company has yet provided an official count of the victims.
