Hackers exploited an employee of data protection company Cyberhaven to potentially steal sensitive user information, according to a statement reviewed by Reuters. The cybercriminals also launched a compromised version of Cyberhaven’s Chrome browser extension, prompting the firm to advise clients to reset passwords and check logs for harmful activity. Jaime Blasco, Nudge Security cofounder, found other Chrome extensions had been infiltrated similarly, suggesting opportunistic data theft via multiple compromised extensions.
