Due to the growing importance of personal data and current regulations, data and privacy breaches have become the leading cause for cyber claims, reveals insurance company Allianz. Looking at large cyber claims exceeding €1m, the frequency rose by 14% while the severity increased by 17% in H1 2024. Meanwhile, non-attack data privacy claims have tripled in terms of value over the past two years.
