The concept of data breaches and digital footprints is gaining attention amidst the rise of online activities in India. Accelerated by a rise in technology disruption, data breach is a concern as it involves unauthorized access to personal or private information. High-profile data breaches have led to the passage of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA). The act obligates companies to notify relevant individuals and the Data Protection Board of India about data breaches within 72 hours. Despite lax fully implementing it, the market for cyber insurance is growing.

CMS proposes new price transparency rules
