Cybersecurity firm, Trend Micro, has reported a surge in the spread of malware known as DarkGate via Skype and Microsoft Teams. The malware is delivered via a script which appears as a PDF document, triggering a download which launches the malware. Most attacks have occurred in the Americas, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. The malware harvests sensitive data, mines cryptocurrency, and remotely controls infected hosts.
