Cybersecurity takes a big hit in new Trump executive order

In an executive order (EO), President Trump removed a requirement for organisations selling critical software to the US government to self-attest their compliance with certain Cybersecurity provisions. Critics say the move allows government contractors to overlook mandatory security precautions. The EO also abandons requirements established by Biden for federal agencies to use encryption that can’t be breached by quantum computer attacks.
