Cybersecurity firm Nozomi Networks Labs has discovered eleven vulnerabilities in the GE HealthCare Vivid T9 ultrasound system and its companion software. The firm suggests that these vulnerabilities could disrupt hospital workflow, compromise patient data security, delay medical procedures, and potentially breach privacy laws. The firm also conducted a proof-of-concept ransomware attack, demonstrating the device’s vulnerability. GE HealthCare has released patches to mitigate these vulnerabilities.
