Cybercriminals leaked approximately 50 million records containing sensitive personal information leading up to Christmas, with many of the leaks taking place on the Dark Web under the tag “Free Leaksmas”. The largest data dump was from a breach at Peruvian telecom provider Movistar, which contained 22 million customer records. Cybersecurity firm Resecurity identified several known threat actors involved, including pro-Iranian hacktivist group SeigedSec and hacktivist alliance “Five Families”.
