Cybercriminals hijack DNS to build stealth attack networks

Sitting Ducks attacks, hijacking domains via DNS configurations, pose a significant threat to cybersecurity, with over one million registered domains vulnerable daily, according to Infoblox researchers. The attackers, including Vacant Viper and Vextrio Viper, exploit these domains for malicious operations. Other threat actors like Horrid Hawk and Hasty Hawk use hijacked domains for schemes such as investment fraud and widespread phishing.
