PowerSchool, a platform used by Canadian school boards for managing student data, suffered a data breach in late December. Experts speculate that information dating back decades may have been compromised. Records of 1.49 million students of Toronto District School Board from 1985-2024 were potentially affected. Social insurance numbers of school staff, and student details such as ID numbers, contact and medical information could have been accessed.
