Cyber security reform to learn from past data breaches – FBC News

Proposals for Australia’s first standalone Cyber Security Act have been introduced, aiming for the country to become a global leader in cybersecurity by 2030. The legislation includes mandatory cybersecurity standards for smart devices, reporting ransomware for specific businesses, and the creation of a Cyber Incident Review Board. The new law will allow the government to direct entities to rectify serious risk management faults.
