Cyber expert urges against ‘panic’ over NHS data leak

The former head of the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre, Ciaran Martin, has urged calm after a Scottish health board suffered a cyber attack. Thousands of patient records were posted to the dark web, but Martin reassured that such breaches rarely result in direct harm to individuals. He asked the public to remain vigilant, and health board staff have been offered additional insurance against identity theft and fraud.
