Cyber attacks continue to hit critical infrastructure, exposing vulnerabilities in oil, water, healthcare sectors

Critical infrastructure facilities have been targeted by cyberattacks, impacting operations at Canada’s Trans-Northern Pipelines, a UK-based water company, and a hospital, causing data breaches and service disruptions. The ALPHV/BlackCat ransomware group allegedly stole 190 GB of data from the oil distribution firm. Similarly, Southern Water and Lurie Children’s Hospital also reported cyber attacks, causing significant data compromises. These events highlight the vital need to bolster cybersecurity defenses to protect critical infrastructure.
