Cyber attack targeted hundreds of vets’ health data in Minnesota

More than 2,300 US military veterans have had their health information targeted in a cyber attack. The US Department of Veterans Affairs said the attack was made on a server managed by DBP, a medical transcription company based in Detroit. Potentially compromised information included names, medical records and social security numbers. DBP responded by disconnecting its server from the internet, replacing hardware and implementing new security controls on its equipment.
