Cyber attack could mean the loss of 30 years of historical documents, Stornoway councillor warns

A cyber attack on Scottish local authority Comhairle nan Eilean Siar could have resulted in the loss of digital archives, dating back 30 years, from the authority’s museums and libraries. Council officials confirmed that the data held on operational and backup servers is currently inaccessible, but there is no evidence that any has been taken from the server. An investigation is under way.
