A serious vulnerability in software MOVEit, used by many companies around the world to transfer and manage files, poses a substantial risk of hacks. The software is currently installed in around 1,800 networks globally. The vulnerability allows hackers to bypass authentication to gain access to sensitive data, with successful attacks already reported. Furthermore, this hacking attempt can also reveal cryptographic hashes hiding user passwords. Users of MOVEit should check the version they are using and update if necessary.
