Cost savings with law enforcement involvement

A report by IBM has revealed that when law enforcement is involved in responding to a data breach, the cost is reduced by an average of $1 million, excluding any ransom paid. Despite this, only 52% of organisations involve law enforcement in the event of a cyberattack. Factors such as awareness, embarrassment, concerns over secrecy and lack of trust are potential reasons for the lack of law enforcement involvement.
