A coroner has issued a warning over a lack of understanding among UK police about Apple’s crash-detection feature, which alerts emergency services in the event of a serious collision. The warning came after teenager George Dillon died in a car crash when a call generated by his iPhone to Hampshire police failed to provoke an immediate response. A task force is being set up to examine national response procedures to such technology and SOS alerts.
