Consumer Problems with Prior Authorization: Evidence from KFF Survey

Around 60% of insured adults encounter issues with their health insurance, including preauthorization problems, with the prevalence of these problems varying among different demographics. Furthermore, clients who have faced preauthorization issues are more prone to experiencing other insurance-related problems as well. These obstacles have resulted in adverse health and financial consequences, including inability to access medical care, worsening health condition, and increased out-of-pocket costs.
