While healthcare systems generally find success with interoperability among medical devices and IT platforms, adoption of these technologies has been slower than expected, impeding improvements in patient outcomes, says Deloitte. Challenges reported by providers include demonstrating value to end users, integrating with existing workflows and budget constraints. To increase the uptake of such technologies, Deloitte advocates closer collaboration between medical device companies, providers and health IT vendors.
