A ransomware attack on telecom giant Comcast has compromised personal data of about 230,000 customers, representing a rising threat of cybercrime in telecom. The attack was executed against a third-party debt collection agency, Financial Business and Consumer Solutions (FBCS), which led to the breach of sensitive customer information. Meanwhile, American Water, the largest water utility company in the U.S., also confirmed a cyber-attack, highlighting the vulnerability of major companies and critical infrastructure.
